“One of the best experiences of our lives! We spent a day in a small village of ceramic masters. Had a delicious lunch in a family house. They kindly prepared special food without spices for our kids. We heard beautiful stories. Saw Khalid’s father and neighbour working and creating pottery. And of course, with interesting introduction, made our own pottery. Our kids’ brightest memories about Morocco. Thank you Khalid for your kindness, patience and sharing the story of your life.”
Ekaterina Belous Freire in GoogleIn the historic pottery village of Tafza, where the craft has been alive for over 3,500 years, Khalid carries on a family tradition passed down through generations. He learned the art of pottery as a child from his father, who, in turn, had learned it from his own father. Using natural materials sourced from the land, he works with red clay found behind the village and stoneware from the Tansift River near Marrakech. His craftsmanship remains deeply rooted in ancestral techniques.
For him, pottery is more than just a craft—it’s a meditative practice, much like yoga, bringing him joy and well-being. His workshops focus on both hand-molding and wheel-throwing, inviting visitors to experience the soothing, tactile connection with clay.
“Memory of L’OURIKA 7 April 24 Heartfelt thanks to Khalid for sharing his knowledge about goalkeeping. I had the pleasure of doing a creative workshop with him. A great time in kindness, sharing and good mood. THANK YOU KHALID . The simplest things are the most beautiful (…)”
