He was born in 1976 in the village of Tizi-N-Oucheg, nestled in the Atlas Mountains. His journey has taken him through various roles—from muleteer to cook—before becoming a professional mountain guide in 2010. With extensive experience in trekking across Morocco, he has guided adventurers through the High Atlas, reaching the peaks of Toubkal, M’Goun, Siroua, and beyond, as well as through the desert and coastal routes.
For Rachid, guiding is more than just a job—it’s a way to connect cultures. Though he may not travel the world himself, the world comes to him, and he takes pride in being a cultural ambassador of Morocco.
Aside from his work as a guide, he is also the president of the Tizi-N-Oucheg Association, dedicated to improving the lives of his community. Under his leadership, the village has seen significant development, from access to clean water and education to infrastructure projects and vocational training. His passion for both nature and people makes him not only a knowledgeable guide but also a driving force for positive change in the Ourika Valley.
